FOUR IN SHOOT-OUT FOR $25M PETSMART ACCOUNT

News, 25 October 2000

Phoenix-headquartered pet supplies retail chain PetSmart has shortlisted four agencies in the review of its creative advertising account, estimated worth around $25 million.

The quartet, competing under the baton of consultant Select Resources International, are: Campbell-Ewald, Los Angeles; Doner Southfield, Michigan; Leo Burnett USA, Chicago (in partnership with Dallas-based field marketing specialist Moroch); and the Richards Group, Dallas. Former incumbent Publicis Northwest of Seattle, is not in the running and a decision is expected in November.

The shortlisted foursome have also been invited to pitch alongside specialist media shops in a separate media review.
