Ford Motor Company has selected two Canadian markets to pilot BuyerConnection – its first-ever online direct car-buying system for consumers.
The areas chosen for the initiative are the Hamilton-Niagara market in Ontario and the Ottawa-Carleton area. Would-be buyers log-on to a special Ford site to obtain a price and find out if their local dealer has the vehicle they want; if not it can be ordered directly from Ford. Initially, the scheme will offer only Ford's Focus, Taurus and Windstar models.
