FORD HANDS LAND ROVER’S GLOBAL AD BUSINESS TO JWT

Ford roster agency J Walter Thompson is to add the prestigious Land Rover account to its global auto portfolio, alongside Jaguar – both now Ford owned marques. The value of the win is unstated but Land Rover currently spends £20 million annually in the UK alone.

Robin Wight, chairman of present incumbent WCRS, which also handles the BMW account, put a philosophical face on the loss: “BMW, alas a competitor to Land Rover, means we must stand aside.”

Insiders believe the switch may presage the consolidation within JWT of all Ford's luxury brands, which would also bring Aston Martin into the JWT fold.
