Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser and Mastercard International are the first global brands to identify themselves with the official 2002 soccer World Cup website, launched last week ahead of the weekend tournament draw.

The signings were jointly announced by FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and its internet partner Yahoo! The debut sponsors were hailed as “world-class companies with focus on value and quality”.

The website deal not only covers title sponsorship but also customer promotions and other multimedia advertising projects.
