The Spanish Ministry of Finance has appointed TBWA Worldwide to handle its national advertising account during the period preceding the issue of euro coins and bank notes in January 2002.

TBWA scooped four other shops, including the ministry’s incumbent Eureka NW Ayer. Other contenders were Publicis – the former frontrunner, given that it works on a similar assignment for the French government as well as the European Central Bank – Vitruvio Leo Burnett and the Union Temporal de Empresas.
