ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO: US satellite TV operator EchoStar saw new subscriber numbers slide 13% for the second quarter, compared with the same period last year.
It signed up 195,000 new customers in Q2, but despite the drop average revenue per user rose 7% to $62.71 (€49; £33).
EchoStar, which has 12.5 million subscribers, says it is looking at various alternatives for providing broadband to its customers, while speculation about a tie-up with rival DirecTV continues.
