EMAP USA SUSPENDS 'SPORT MAGAZINE' AFTER TOBACCO AD LOSS

Sport Magazine, published by Emap USA, was suspended last Friday after fifty-four years of publication following the withdrawal of cigarette advertising by Philip Morris from a range of US publications [WAMN, 18-May-00]. Emap blamed the withdrawal for the title’s closure, also citing its strategic intention to concentrate on its more tightly focused sports titles.
