EMAP PULLS OUT OF ‘TOO LOW’ TIMES-MIRROR BID

British publishing group Emap has withdrawn from the battle to acquire US-owned publisher Times-Mirror Magazines [WAMN: 12-Oct-00] after being told that its indicative bid was too low.

Still in the auction are the New York Times, American Media and Time Warner. Times-Mirror is expected to realise around $400 million (£276m).
