HOLLYWOOD - The Walt Disney Company's home video distribution unit Buena Vista, will on Tuesday start selling its latest movies online, in addition to its back catalog. The films will be offered for keeps, rather than limited period rental.
The first movie available will be Glory Road, Disney's true life story about America's first all-black college basketball team in 1966. Like all other offerings, it will be electronically protected to prevent copying.
The Mouse House's me-too move follows last month's launch of a similar joint venture by Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Paramount Pictures.
