Walt Disney Company has struck a deal with Bank One and Visa to create a Disney-branded credit card.
Launching in January 2003 (after expiry of the media mammoth’s existing partnership with American Express), the Visa card will be issued and overseen by Bank One’s credit card division. It will initially roll out solely in the US.
Visa will also work with Disney to produce global promotions using the latter’s manifold entertainment properties.
Shoppers paying with Mickey Mouse plastic will gain rewards such as discounts on holidays at Disney theme parks.
