LONDON - Passengers arriving on the overnight red-eye from New York (and elsewhere) will soon be greeted in British airports by computerised sandwich boards that flash targeted messages at them.
The latest gizmo comes courtesy of advertising specialist Adwalker, which this week signed a three-year access contract with airports operator BAA.
The computerised sandwich boards feature a screen that displays ads, as well as a wearable computer with a wireless internet connection that can be used to register consumers' details. It also come complete with a printer that produces coupons or other promotional material.
