BONN - Deutsche Telekom has won sponsorship rights for the German soccer Bundesliga.
The reported €60 million ($76m; £41m) deal will see the league change its name to T-Com-Liga for the start of the 2007 season and its hot-pink logo will be carried on all players' shirts.
The changes have dealt a further blow to Germany's biggest pay-television company Premiere, which lost the broadcast rights to live national games last year [WAMN: 23-Dec-05].
To avoid legal difficulties Deutsche Telekom has said it will not now use its rights for showing live football via the internet to provide viewing for Premiere's subscribers.
