NEW YORK - Japan's largest advertising agency, Dentsu, named Tim Andree (45) as chief executive of Dentsu America, its recently renamed New York unit.
    Andree was previously chief marketing officer of BASF, the German chemicals company. He assumes duties previously held by Toyo Shigeta, who has been appointed chief executive of Dentsu Holdings, which oversees Dentsu's US and Canadian businesses.
    Dentsu, the globe's fifth largest agency by 2004 billings, numbers among its US clientele such giants as Canon, Toshiba and Toyota.
