The word's biggest PC maker Dell Computer is offering refunds to litigious Chinese customers who claim their laptops had different microprocessors than those advertised by the company.
According to reports in Beijing newspaper China Daily claimants filed two lawsuits in different parts of the country, saying they were sold laptops with Intel processors that have fewer features than the models they believed they were buying.
Dell blames the problem on a "marketing error", saying that in its promotional output "someone retained some language that no longer applied to the particular model".
The company declined to comment on the litigation but says it has been in contact with customers and is "working with them".
