PARIS - Net profit at the global food manufcaturer more than tripled in 2005, rising from €449m ($533.6m; £306.6m) to €1.46bn, although this was distorted by disposals.
On an underlying basis, food manufacturer Danone increased its net income by 13.3%, shrugging off raw material cost increases.
Like-for-like sales rose 6.7% - well ahead of the 3.1% posted last week by rival Unilever, reflecting Danone's presence in faster growing food categories.
