Car manufacturer DaimlerChrysler and T-Online, the internet division of Deutsche Telekom, are reportedly set to announce a joint online venture.

Full details are expected at a press conference today, but DaimlerChrysler spokesman Wolfgang Scheunemann has revealed that the scheme will focus on business-to-customer activities, with both companies initially making multi-million euro investments.

The car giant added that it wants to exploit fully the potential of the internet, which it feels can cut costs and improve communications with customers and suppliers.
