Ford Europe has suspended advertising across the continent in the wake of the recent devastation in the US.
“We have taken a decision to put on hold short-term advertising,” revealed the auto giant’s European communications manager Don Hume. Although ads by local dealers may still be run, “corporate advertising across Europe is on hold.”
With no major new models currently in the pipeline, the focus of Ford Europe’s advertising is presently its sponsorship of the leading continent-wide soccer competition, the Champions’ League.
Added Hume: “The suspension is being reviewed on a continuous basis.”
