London-headquartered Cordiant Communications is expected to announce today (Tuesday) that group finance director Art D’Angelo has quit to take up the post of chief financial officer at troubled McCann-Erickson WorldGroup.
McCann, whose European operations are at the epicenter of the $181.3 million (€183.08m; £116.12m) accounting imbalance swamping parent Interpublic Group, is in dire need of a new and squeaky-clean cash commissar.
The agency’s former chief financial officer and vice chairman Salvatore LaGreca recently quit citing plans to take early retirement at the age of 49.
D'Angelo, the former cfo of Bates Worldwide, joined Cordiant’s board as finance director in December 1997, relinquishing his Bates’ responsibilities in March 2001.
