ATLANTA: Coca-Cola Company's head marketing honcho Mary Minnick, who oversaw the launch of last year's 'Coke Side of Life' global advertising campaign, has resigned.

It is thought her departure is linked to the elevation of Muhtar Kent to president/chief operating officer - and, more importantly, first in line to the throne of chairman/ceo Neville Isdell [WARC News: 11-Dec-06].

The company has not named a successor for Minnick's role. It is possible her responsibilities as chief of marketing, strategy and innovation will be split.

She is staying at Coke until the end of next month and will then move to the UK to "pursue a combination of professional and personal goals".
