ATLANTA: The Coca-Cola Company has named former insurance marketer Joe Tripodi as its new cmo finally plugging the gap left by Mary Minnick who quit the role at the start of the year.

Tripodi (pictured) was marketing chief at the biggest US car and home insurer Allstate Insurance. He has also worked at Seagram Spirits & Wine Group and built his reputation during nine years with MasterCard International.

At Coke he will be responsible for the soft drink titan's relationships with customers such as Wal-Mart and McDonald's. The company has prioritized the way it works with leading retailers as part of its revitalisation plan under ceo Neville Isdell.
