US media giant Clear Channel Communications has been hit with another major fine as regulators clamp down on broadcast indecency.

The nation's biggest radio station group has been told to pay $247,500 (€201,420; £137,291) for content aired on the Elliot in the Morning show, which is broadcast in Washington, Virginia and Delaware. The "graphic and sexual" material was replayed on several occasions, each time incurring the maximum penalty of $27,500.

Clear Channel recently agreed to pay a separate indecency fine of $755,000 [WAMN: 09-Mar-04].
