The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, adland's annual hoedown of egoflashing, backslapping and dealmaking, continues apace at the Côte d'Azure watering hole.
Grand Prix winners in the Print and Outdoor advertising category (nearly 800 entries) were DDB London and J Walter Thompson's Kuala Lumpur office -- the former for 'Cops', a print campaign for Volkswagen; the latter for its outdoor effort on behalf of TV station CH-9 Media.
Both campaigns were described by the 22-strong jury as "easy to understand while being true to what the brand stands for". In addition to the top awards, 69 gold, 46 silver and 108 bronze mantelshelf moggies went to agencies in 71 countries.
The merrymaking continues.
