LONDON: Collett Dickenson Pearce, the ad shop that epitomised the Belle Époque of UK advertising back in the swinging London of the 1960s, will be laid to rest at the start of 2009 by its latterday owner, the Japanese marketing services conglomerate Dentsu.

With the legendary Messrs Collett, Dickenson and Pearce, long since departed from the London ad scene, the former CDP was acquired by Dentsu in 2000 to be rebranded in fashionable lower case as cdptravissully.

As of 01.01.09, it will be known simply as DentsuLondon – victim to the corporate cloning that the Nipponese giant hopes will boost its profile in the global market, including rebranding its offices in the US and Europe.
