Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, the fifth largest ad agency in Britain – and with 51% of its equity UK-held, the nation's biggest indigenous shop – has promoted deputy managing director and head of client services Farah Ramzan to managing director.
An AMV staffer of twelve years, Ramzan becomes the third member of the agency’s management triumvirate alongside chief executive Cilla Snowball and chairman Michael Baulk.
The move completes the round of musical chairs triggered by last month’s elevation of former ceo Andrew Robertson to the presidency of BBDO Worldwide in New York.
The appointment was announced at a celebration to mark the agency’s 25th birthday last week. Eulogized Snowball: “At a moment when we are celebrating AMV’s past, present and future, it is absolutely fitting that Farah become the managing director. She is an energetic, brave and bright leader who believes passionately in AMV.”
