BT PAYPHONE-USERS in the Isle of Wight were able to make free local and national calls that would normally cost 10p during August and September - on condition they listened to a 30-second commercial. The six-week trial featured ads from Philips Audio, Fiatand Exchange & Mart. If successful the service, branded Ad Call, will roll-out nationally to all BT’s 141,000 phone kiosks within the next six months. Says Steven Davis of BT Payphones: 'It’s the ultimate choice for consumers. People can already use coins or cards and now we’re taking it one stage further.'
