BMW North America has shortlisted four of the eight agencies battling for its $40 million Mini account.

The surviving shops are Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners and Magetoes Fertitta & Partners, both of New York, plus Miami’s Crispin Porter Bogusky and Suissa Miller in Santa Monica.

The four also-rans are LA’s WondDoody, Richards Group in Dallas, San Fransisco-based Citron Haligman Bedecarre and Dimassimo in New York.

The shortlist will make their presentations in February, with a decision expected at the end of the same month. The Mini, a familiar sight in Europe, will be go on sale in the US early in 2002 - the first time since 1967.
