BBDO Worldwide has won Deutsche Bank’s $18 million advertising duties for its Bank 24 brand.
Deutsche Bank is keen to establish its subsidiary’s 24-hour services on a worldwide scale – the four-month review was in part prompted by the insufficient global resources of incumbent Springer & Jacoby. Also pitching for the account was Frankfurt’s McCann-Erickson Worldwide, which handles the client’s corporate account and internet investment service.
However, Düsseldorf-based BBDO already handles accounts for Postbank and the Allianz insurance company (currently merging with Dresdner Bank). To avoid potential conflict, the agency is shifting the Bank 24 account to subsidiary ECC (European Communications Consultants) in Berlin, a division of BBDO’s public relations network.
