As the founder of WARC News and managing editor since its debut in May 2000, it's with a mixture of regret (old reflexes die hard) and relief (from the daily routine) that I today retire from the editorial chair as WARC prepares for an exciting and enhanced news product.

It's with particular pleasure that I hand the editorial reins to my former deputy Stephen Whiteside who, with his WARC colleagues, is in the final stages of developing a new and comprehensive integrated news and marketing information product. I'll be cheering them on from the sidelines!

Meantime, its not just 'goodbye' from me but also 'hello', as I switch hats and continue to contribute to WARC via a fortnightly opinion column in which I'll mull the foibles, follies and future of the global marketing industry as it rides the economic whitewaters.
