Around $30 million (€28m; £19m) has been cut from the ad budget of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

The appropriations bill passed last week by the House of Representatives and Senate allocates $150m to the anti-drugs effort for 2003, the lowest total since the campaign was launched in 1998. Last year the ONDCP’s approved spend was $180m.
