US brewing giant Anheuser-Busch has opened offices of its internal media arm in the UK, the first time the division has extended overseas.

The new unit of Busch Media Group will handle British media planning and buying for Budweiser, Bud Ice and Michelob– ousting incumbent OMD UK – and will oversee the brewer’s media business across Europe.

Founded in 1985 to conduct national TV and local radio buying, BMG assumed all Anheuser-Busch’s US media duties in 1992.
