MARGATE, South Africa: The Loerie Awards, Africa's major advertising festival, ended Sunday evening with the bestowal of two Grand Prix awards and 82 other gongs.

The Grand Prix went to The Jupiter Drawing Room of South Africa and Dubai-based Impact/BBDO - respectively for the interactive element of Design Indaba's integrated campaign Ideas; and Masterfoods Don't Stop TV commercial.

In addition, eleven Gold Medals were handed out plus 20 Silver, 38 Bronze and 11 Craft Gold.

Said Loerie Awards chairman Festus Masekwameng: "With a record number of entries the standard of work has been very high this year, with five Grand Prix trophies awarded in total - an increase from last year when just three were awarded."
