Revenues during the period January-April 2001 had grown ‘satisfactorily’, according to a statement issued yesterday by London-headquartered media practitioner Aegis Group.

Despite the global slowdown in adspend, Aegis companies gained net new business of $850 million (£594m), the group claimed, but omitted to quantify total revenues.

Analysts and the stock market were unimpressed by this upbeat if vague report and Aegis shares fell 6.5p to £1.30 against their twelve month high of £2.03.
