Following the announcement of its new interactive venture [WAMN: 06-Jul-04], global media and research holding company Aegis Group reveals yet more positive news with the release of its latest trading figures.

Describing earlier advertising expenditure forecasts as "slightly conservative" at 5.3%, Aegis boasts that its figures now exceed expectations.

Contributing to the good fortune is the "respectable growth" of the European market, particularly the southern countries, although the group admits France and Germany remain a challenge.

Also performing well is Aegis' market research group Synovate, while increased spending by clients on custom market research provides another welcome boost to finances.

Timely purchases have prevented Aegis succumbing to the fate of the marketing services recession. It recently bought Proactive Insight, the South African-based market research business.
