The Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA) has appealed for the current 25% limit on share of advertising revenue for any single ITV company to remain unchanged. Its statement has been released to coincide with the handover to the Government of the Competition Commission’s report on consolidation.

John Hooper, director-general of the ISBA, said that consolidation would “almost certainly lead to further increases in airtime cost inflation, pricing many advertisers out of the market. ITV accounts for some 60% of all TV advertising spend and airtime cost inflation is already in double figures.”
