Following a request from NYC & Co, New York’s official tourism marketing body, the Advertising Council is launching a national campaign to raise funds for the families of victims of last week’s attacks.

To be created by McCann-Erickson Worldwide, the ads will run on TV and radio across the country and feature an as yet unknown New York personality.

The Council also announced it would create or distribute public service messages connected with the attacks for organisations requiring them, even if they are not usually involved in the Council’s activities.
