Two major international accounts have been put up for grabs:
• German telecoms titan Siemens is to consolidate within a single agency the global media duties for its mobile phone division.
The business is currently split by market, while Wieden & Kennedy in Amsterdam handles the global creative account, worth up to $100 million (€106m; £68m).
Siemens is said to be drawing up a shortlist of shops not already handling mobile accounts, possibly spelling doom for German incumbent Mediaedge:CIA, which also works with Sony Ericsson.
• Swiss, the airline founded on the ruins of Swissair [WAMN: 01-Feb-02], is hunting for an agency to manage its international ad business.
Eight Zurich shops are in the running: Advico/Y&R, Euro RSCG Worldwide, Jung von Matt/Limmat, Lesch + Frei, Publicis, Weber Hodel Schmid, Lowe & Partners and Wirz Werbung. Four will be shortlisted.
Having launched via ex-Swissair incumbent Advico/Y&R, Swiss plans to roll out a new ad strategy in the autumn.
