SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - The US phone giant AT&T expects to drop the Cingular brand when its merger with smaller rival BellSouth is completed sometime before the end of the year [WAMN: 07-Mar-05].
   The company will replace the names BellSouth and Cingular - America's biggest cellphone operator - with AT&T and is currently undergoing a $500 million (€395m; £271m) rebranding exercise, the most expensive in US telecoms history.
