NEW YORK: US online giant AOL is to extend its Platform-A advertising business to European marketers, expanding a service that allows them to buy across its network, including Advertising.com, behavioural-targeting firm Tacoda, and other areas.
The company has appointed Brendan Condon as head of Platform-A's London-based international operations. He was erstwhile head of Advertising.com's international operations.
AOL has spent $1 billion (€633m; £505m) in recent years acquiring online businesses to build a one-stop shop for buying web ads.
The success of Platform-A is critical to the company's future, as it transforms itself from a subscriber-funded ISP to an ad-supported internet portal.
