A large bird of ill-omen surely hovers over Britain’s accident-prone new breed of internet banks!

One of the latest newcomers to the online banking fray, Cahoot, owned by high street mortgage bank Abbey National, got off to a bad start with a major system crash on its first day [WAMN: 12-Jun-2000].

Now a further technical glitch has caused the recall of all its debit cards after many customers reported that they failed to work when scanned at checkouts. All cards have been cancelled and replacements will be mailed to customers within the next two weeks.

The recall comes less than two months after the cards' initial issue.
