A massive – albeit not record – audience of 51 million viewers switched-on Wednesday to the last episode of CBS’ Survivor gameshow. According to Nielsen Media Research, the program drew a national rating of 28.2 and 44 share during the final 8-10pm (EST) slot.
Impressive though this is, it falls well short of the 75m viewers achieved by the finale of Seinfeld. However, Nielsen says it thrusts the last Survivor episode into the all-time top ten most widely watched shows in the US with national ratings of at least 30.
