AUCKLAND/MELBOURNE: New Zealand's Colenso BBDO is the top agency in Australasia, edging Sydney-based creative agency Atomic 212 into second place, according to the Warc 100 regional analysis released this week.

The Warc 100 is an annually-released league table of the world's best campaigns, agencies, brands and advertisers based on performance in various advertising competitions. The methodology for the rankings was developed in partnership with King's College London.

Auckland-based Colenso BBDO was number one creative agency across Australia and New Zealand in this year's rankings, and cracked the top ten creative agencies globally, coming in at #9. Colenso BBDO was involved in three of the top 10 campaigns in Australia and New Zealand, propelling it into the number one ranked agency in the region.

Campaigns with Australia and New Zealand also scored highly in this year's overall rankings, with Lucy The Robot – developed by Atomic 212 – the highest scoring campaign among Australasian entries, ahead of the second-placed campaign for Narellan Pools by data agency Affinity. Lucy The Robot also ranked third in the global campaign rankings.

Six Australian agencies were ranked in the region's top ten including Atomic 212, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Affinity, Leo Burnett Melbourne, McCann Melbourne, and BMF, with four from New Zealand (Clemenger BBDO Wellington, Colenso/Proximity and Barnes, Catmur and Friends, as well as Colenso BBDO).

Strong performances by BBDO Worldwide agencies Colenso BBDO and Clemenger BBDO offices in Melbourne and Wellington led to BBDO Worldwide being the number one network in Australia and New Zealand by a significant margin.
