BRITISH AIRWAYS’ direct-sell offshoot (Go unveiled pre-tax losses of £19.5m last month, thereby presenting profitable rival (easyJet with another PR opportunity to tweak the nose of the world’s favourite airline. EasyJet chairman Stelios Haji-Ioannu, who these days out-Bransons Richard when it comes to grabbing headlines [and without wearing drag or fancy dress], gleefully announced the results of a promotion earlier this year in which the public was invited to predict the extent of Go’s losses - the fifty nearest guesses winning. Seven of the 64,000 entries forecast the exact figure, whilst another 163 came within a whisker. The forty-three runners-up were chosen by a tie-break for the best anti-BA jingle. Winners each received a pair of tickets to anywhere on easyJet’s network
