The penetration of the internet into the everyday lives of Europeans is taking place at different rates across the continent, according to new research from MMXI Europe.
The UK leads the way in terms of numbers of users, with 12.5 million accessing the web, closely followed by Germany with 11.3m. Denmark, unsurprisingly given its small population, comes last among surveyed countries with just under 2m, lagging France, Spain and Sweden. Danish users also spend the least time online, although they are some of the most regular users in Europe.
Sweden and the UK post the highest penetration of the web amongst women.
