The ITV network’s ongoing failure to place its content on BSkyB’s Sky Digital platform will reduce its annual advertising revenues by £62 million, according to the media and entertainment unit at stockbroker Merrill Lynch.

Merrill predicts that ITV’s total advertising income will total £1.94 billion for the year 2000, as opposed to the £2.01bn it originally forecast.

ITV’s fourth quarter revenue performance “appears to be getting weaker”, and the stockbroker predicts that ad income for October could be down by 17%.
