New York-headquartered international agency network Young & Rubicam, now a subsidiary of Britain's WPP Group, brought glad tidings to its new parent – a 23% increase in second quarter net income.

This rose to $37.5 million, boosted by revenues 19.5% up on the same period last year to $495 million.

Aggregated results for the first half-year: net income up 37.4% to $69.1 million, revenue up 18.2% to $943.3 million.
