Interpublic has launched The Opel Brand Communications Group, a worldwide operation dedicated to serving General Motors’ Opel automobile marque. Headed by Gunnar Ilmot, executive vice president, and worldwide account director for GM at McCann-Erickson, its brief is to deliver dedicated integrated marketing for Open on a worldwide basis.
Frankfurt-based OBCG includes teams both from McCann Erickson World Group and Lowe Lintas & Partners, working alongside specialists from other Interpublic subsidiaries. The global initiative, Interpublic’s first for a single client, is based on models developed across its US and Canadian organisations.
