IBM Corporation yesterday launched a $150 million global marketing campaign in support of its e-software brands DB2, Lotus, Tivoli and Web-Sphere.
The campaign via Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, broke on prime-time TV with a commercial featuring actor Avery Brooks - Captain Benjamin Sisko in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Sisko explains how the world [but not as we know it, Jim] is changing: successful e-businesses need IBM software.
Print ads start next month, online ads later this summer. Campaigns in Europe and Japan break in the fall.
