FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND Tesco Financial Services customers clamouring for the supermarket’s new range of financial products caused near-meltdown at the Royal Bank of Scotland’s call centres. RBS chief executive George Matthewson admitted: 'We are in the process of getting it right ... we will get it right in the next week or two.' He promised that no customer will suffer financially because of the delays, adding 'it indicates that we have correctly identified the potential for a significant new business'.
