THE BBC’s commercial internet service beeb.com may be floated on the stock market next year to raise funds for the development of digital services. The move, currently under consideration by BBC governors, would be the first time part of the BBC has been spun-off as a revenue-raising exercise. Beeb.com generates 8.8m page impressions monthly - and growing daily! Internal estimates value the service at over £500m.
