LONDON: Aegis Group has quickly named company veteran Jerry Buhlmann (pictured) as the new ceo of its main communications arm, Aegis Media, following the sudden departure of Mainardo de Nardis.
Buhlmann, who will also sit on the board, has led Aegis Media EMEA since 2003, and was ceo of the group's Carat International unit from 2000 to 2003.
The UK-headquartered conglomerate is vague about De Nardis' exit after two years in the top job. He joined from WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia, where he led global operations.
Aegis Group head Robert Lerwill did, however, thank him "for all he has done during his time at the helm".
The latest spin of the revolving door to the management suite comes just three weeks after David Verklin quit as ceo of Aegis Media Americas and Sarah Fay, head of both Carat and Aegis' Isobar US, was named as his replacement.
Aegis is preparing to fight off a fifth attempt by largest single investor Vincent Bolloré to shoehorn two directors onto its board.
Bolloré, who also chairs French advertising rival Havas, has called for yet another vote at the Aegis annual meeting in London next week.
